This is a simple pasta that can be easily customized. It's an easy go-to recipe when you're either in a hurry or too tired to cook. The sauce is creamy and the bacon adds a nice salty crunch. A lovely pairing.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta - I used Fusilli
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 cup white wine
- 2 to 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan
- 1 bag frozen Tyson already cooked cubed chicken breast
-
Seasoned with garlic powder, cayenne powder, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika. I may have added a little chicken bouillon and dried Italian herbs, but I don't remember lol sorry.
Directions
Cook bacon and remove from pan. Cool bacon and then roughly chop it up. Save for the end.
Cook pasta while the sauce is being made and save 1 cup pasta water. Put pasta to the side until needed at the end of the recipe.
On medium heat add butter and white wine. Cook 1 minute.
Add flour and whisk in. Cook 1 minute.
Pour in heavy cream & dry seasonings.
Cook sauce on a medium-low for 5-10 minutes until it reduces and begins to thicken.
Turn heat to low and add parmesan and whisk into sauce until thoroughly combined.
Add chicken to the sauce and cook on medium for 5 minutes. Pour around ½ cup of the pasta water in and mix. Cook for a few more minutes.
Add cooked pasta into the pan along with the cooked and chopped bacon. Mix everything together.
Taste and add any more seasonings like salt and pepper you think your pasta needs and then you’ll be ready to serve and enjoy!
